The Board of Directors of ARAIBA provides strategic oversight and guidance to advance the organization’s mission to advance the adoption of responsible and inclusive business practices in support of socio-economic integration of Southeast Asia.
Thomas Thomas is the founder and Chairman of ARAIBA Sdn Bhd, the successor organisation to ASEAN CSR Network (ACN), of which he was the founder and CEO. The ACN was established to promote and enable responsible business conduct in ASEAN Member States.
Malaysia
Dr. Hari Ramalu Ragavan is a sustainability management and policy expert specializing in Malaysia and the Asia-Pacific. He advises public and private sectors on ESG, climate and ecosystems management, and the SDGs, and has collaborated with organizations such as UNDP, World Bank, USAID, UNIDO, UNEP, and ADB. A certified HRDC trainer and Frankfurt School Expert in Sustainable Finance, he also leads capacity-building on sustainable consumption and production, sustainable finance, and ESG strategy.
The Board of Advisors is composed of eminent personalities from diverse backgrounds that provide a mix of expertise relevant to inclusive and responsible business in Southeast Asia. The Board provides strategic advice and guidance to ARAIBA Sdn Bhd, its strategic priorities, programmes and partnerships, and its operational budget and annual work plan in order for ARAIBA to achieve its objectives.
Singapore
Eugene K.B. Tan is an Associate Professor of Law at Singapore Management University. He served as a Nominated Member of Singapore’s 12th Parliament (2012–2014) and is currently Singapore’s Alternative Representative to the ASEAN Intergovernmental Commission on Human Rights (AICHR).
Malaysia
Dr. Marimuthu Nadason is a leading advocate in consumerism and social development. He chairs the Malaysian Standards and Accreditation Council (MSAC) and sits on the Board of the National Consumer Complaints Centre (NCCC). He has previously chaired the National Consumer Advisory Council under the Ministry of Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism, and served as Chairperson of AsiaDHRRA and Co-Chair of ANCO. He has also presented widely at national and international conferences on consumer rights and standards development.
Indonesia
Before joining APR in March 2018, Basrie built extensive experience in sustainability and non-technical risk management. He spent 15 years in senior roles at multinational corporations such as BP and Vale, leading community-based engagement in remote regions across Indonesia, and 13 years in journalism with The Jakarta Post.
Myanmar
Daw Khine Khine Nwe (Rosaline) is Deputy Managing Director of Best Industrial Company Limited, a garment-manufacturing company. She is also General Secretary of the Myanmar Garment Manufacturers’ Association and Joint Secretary-General of the UMFCCI, where she heads the Corporate Social Responsibility Committee and the Industrial Relations Committee.
Philippines
Ms. Helen Orande is Executive Director of the League of Corporate Foundations and a member of the Board of Trustees of the ASEAN CSR Network. She plays a key role in advancing corporate social responsibility and sustainable development initiatives across the region.
